Pinterest makes purchasing on mobile possible

Pinterest has just rolled out an update that brings Buyable Pins to iOS users.

Pin that

Pinterest announced the news in a blog post.

"Earlier this month, we announced buyable Pins—the simple, secure way to buy your favorite products on Pinterest. Today, we’re excited to start rolling them out to U.S. Pinners on iPhone and iPad," wrote Michael Yamartino, Head of Commerce at Pinterest.

Pay on the go

Items for sale are identified with blue price tags. Users can filter results based on categories including colour and sale price.

As part of the update, there’s also a Shop Our Picks category that displays curated content around the latest Buyable Pins.

Users can pay for products using Apple Pay or credit card, directly in the app.

Roll out

While they’re only available in the US for now, Pinterest says there will soon be 30 million Buyable Pins rolling out from brands including Macy’s, Nordstrom and SOBU.

And an Android version is in the works.
