Skype continues to be a part of our mobile, and increasingly web-based lives. At least if Microsoft has any say in it.
Skype for Web has just received an update geared towards chatting from shared or public computers.
Talk to whoever you want
As long as you have Skype credit or a subscription, all you need to do is jump on Skype for Web to start calling.
Call rates for pay-as-you-go users begin at 2.5c per minute for local landlines, and 10.7c for mobiles based in Australia, plus a once-off connection fee.
Never miss a beat
Skype for Web improvements continue with a number of chat-related updates.
Logged-in users can now receive notifications, ensuring they will never miss a message or call, even if another tab or program is keeping them busy.
Once they're back in and chatting, users can invite non-Skype friends to the conversation as a guest.
And from there users or their friends won't have to change tabs anywhere near as often, with YouTube links automatically becoming an embedded video.
Skype might be almost ubiquitous, but it's never been easier for casual and hardcore users alike to jump on wherever they are.
