Here’s one for the fans: YouTube and Ticketmaster have teamed up to sell more concert tickets.
Music to your ears?
YouTube pages for artists will now feature upcoming tour dates, including nearby shows.
Importantly, punters will be able to purchase concert tickets by clicking on the new "Ticket’s" button on the YouTube page. This will then redirect to Ticketmaster’s website to complete the transaction.
The service works on web and mobile.
Rock on
The YouTube and Ticketmaster mix could mark the start of similar partnerships, and extend monetisation options for brands in the live event market.
Ticketmaster also sells tickets through Spotify and Facebook in the US.
At the moment, the feature only extends to music acts touring North America. If it takes off, you might be buying your next Midnight Oil gig tickets on YouTube.
Would this feature make you more likely to buy tickets to a gig? Let us know in the comments.
