Snapchat sure is making make hay while the social sun is shining.
Shortly after announcing its plans for TV-style programming, the platform has upped its production cred by partnering with HBO.

Snapchat has signed a two-year deal with Time Warner, the owners of HBO, for US$100 million.
The deal will see 10 original programs created for Snapchat, and spans drama and comedy. The partnership will also include advertising.

The deal could give Snapchat some breathing space, with Facebook and Instagram blatantly poaching many of its most popular features. These moves have hurt Snapchat, both in terms of revenue and user growth.
However if Snapchat can deliver top-notch content with the network responsible for classics such as The Sopranos and Game of Thrones, it might have found something Facebook can’t copy.
