While Instagram might be cloning its most popular features at a breathtaking pace, it hasn't stopped Snapchat from rolling out new carrots for users.
The latest: you can now create your own Geofilters more easily using a design studio.
Geo-that
While you’ve been able to mock up your own Geofilters for over a year, the design studio makes the process more streamlined and accessible.
The studio has categories including Birthday, Celebrations, Food and Bars, and Business. These all have templates which allow you to add content including text, graphics, and colour palettes.
Wider reach
Until now Geofilters have largely been the domain of brands.
By making them easier to whip up, Snapchat will be hoping smaller businesses and individual users will start tinkering. Yet the US$9 starting price may prove a barrier too high for some.
Stay tuned to see if Instagram rolls out a similar feature soon!
