The lines between traditional and new media continue to blur with the latest update from Google.
Viewers will soon be able to vote for reality TV contestants directly from Google Search.
X-Factor?
While details are still scant, it appears Google will now display a list of remaining contestants from reality TV shows in its search results.
You can then vote for the contestant directly from search, either on web or mobile.
Traditional voting methods, such as phoning and texting, will run alongside the search function.

At this stage the feature is being trialled in Asia, with talent shows including The X-Factor Indonesia and Vietnam's Got Talent signing up for the new feature.
The update could mean bigger boosts for networks, and potentially larger audiences for brands that advertiser around TV shows on platforms such as Twitter.
If it takes off expect web voting coming to Australian and New Zealand shores soon.
