Australia’s first Instagram Performance Report

With a community of more than 400 million worldwide and around 6 million registered users in Australia, Instagram is one of the largest global mobile ad platforms.

Online Circle Digital has just released Australia’s first ever Instagram Performance Report.

We have analysed 300 Australian brands and social media Influencers’ accounts across 12 different industries.

It is a comprehensive survey of Australian brands on Instagram, with statistics on some of the most important metrics you need to know in social media marketing today.

The report ranks the largest and most engaged Instagram accounts in Australia by utilising data from August and September 2015.

Most popular Instagram accounts revealed

Surprisingly, social media Influencer accounts beat Australia's biggest brands to take out both the largest and most engaged categories on Instagram.

The report revealed that Kayla Itsines dominated in regards to the highest amount of followers and average engagement.

In fact, social media Influencers displayed more than double the figures of any other industry when it came to engagement, followers and follower growth.

The industry predecessor in all three scenarios was within the retail industry – specifically surfwear.

Influencers are the new taste makers

Instagram influencers are evolving to become a new breed of celebrity.

Brands have the unique opportunity to select and connect with these leading individuals, allowing Instagram users to engage with the brand through a source that they trust and value.
