Meet Nametag, Instagram's new feature making following people even easier.
Safety in numbers
For what could be considered a new direction for social media, Instagram wants to make it easier for users to meet in real life.
Using the Nametag feature, users can see each other’s info in a new scannable format that can be customised with personal flair.
Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, and even Spotify have all started toying with similar features meant to spur more co-mingling amongst flesh and blood users.
How it works
To access the new feature, users need to go to profile, tap the menu icon in the top right and choose Nametag, which will in turn display the user’s own code.
The other user need only swipe over to their camera, focus on the tag, scan, and they have your info. Fast and easy.
Nametag is available for iOS and Android users globally and could change how apps think about user info sharing between members.
Have you been wanting a scannable way to swap contact info? Are you excited for the addition? Let us know in the comments.
