LinkedIn has released its latest findings to help users get the most from their profile and stay ahead of the competition.
Stand out
LinkedIn's short but concise list of tips and tricks to revamp your professional chops covers profile photos, work history, and network connections.
Profiles need a few standard basics: having a quality photo can lead to 9X more requests, and be sure your industry experience is up to date – which can lead to more jobs and groups showing interest.
Remember to include location as it can boost discovery from alumni, former colleagues, and recruiters by up to 23X.
Proactive changes
LinkedIn has also redesigned the header section of your profile to make key information stand out more prominently. The change has helped profiles reach more than 17X the views and 31X more messages from interested parties.
Skills now consist of four categories: Industry Knowledge, Interpersonal Skills, Other Skills, and Tools & Technologies. Skills can be reordered in each category and you can pin your top skills in each section.
