If there's one thing Apple is known for, it's attention to detail.
So each June at its Worldwide Developer Conference, Apple recognises developers who have created beautiful, well-designed apps with its Design Awards.
Respecting the best
This year's winners vary from productivity apps and multimedia tools for music and video to games.
Square Enix was noticed for its Lara Croft Go puzzle game, State Of Play Games for INKS – a pinball-puzzle game – and Jan Ilavsky's Chameleon Run, an increasingly difficult runner.
Auxy Music Creation by Auxy AB, an electronic music app, and djay Pro by Algoriddim, a top-level DJ app, were also recognised, as was video collaboration tool Frame.io, which hooks into Apple's Final Cut Pro X program.
Masters of the craft
Apple also acknowledged two student winners – Joaquin Vila for puzzle game Linum, and 2D arcade game Dividr by Josh Diechmann, Patrick Pistor and Erik Lydick.
So what are you waiting for? The 2017 Awards are less than a year away!
