Facebook has just released some important updates for Facebook Live, designed to give more customisation options and tools for publishers.
Here's what you need to know.
Live from Web
Brands can now go Live on Facebook through a web browser linked to your Page.
Until now most Live broadcasts were recorded on mobile. Facebook says this update will help content created on laptops and desktops.
Live Contributor for Pages
Previously, only admins could use Live from a Page. Now Facebook has cast a wider net, and multiple contributors are able to go Live.
This means admins can assign a 'Live Contributor' role on Pages, denoting who can use the service autonomously.
Insights
Video metrics will soon be available for Profiles with over 5000 followers.
These metrics are fairly basic (total minutes viewed, total engagement), but designed to give high-profile users improved insight into how their videos are performing.
And finally..
As part of the update, Facebook has also rolled out Live comment pinning, the ability to cross-post previously Live videos, and a video permalink for Pages, which directs users to your Page's video library.
