Videos, events, user base, engagement – the list of things Facebook dominates goes on and on.
However one area Facebook is yet to master is music. Something that's being addressed with the latest update to Messenger.
Tune in
Facebook recently announced that Messenger is now integrated with Spotify, meaning users can share songs and playlists with their friends.
To tune in, tap the More tab on Messenger during a chat, then select Spotify.
This will then take you to the Spotify app, where you can select a song, artist, or playlist to share. Shared content includes cover art.
And if you're looking for some new inspiration, the Messenger folks have created their own playlist.
Musical chairs
While Spotify has its own service to share content, it can't match the 1 billion users Messenger now boasts.
The update could help engagement for both services, while providing another option against the likes of Pandora and Apple Music.
