Facebook stats worth knowing

Facebook has recently posted their top valuable facts as of July 2017 to shed light regarding return on investments and strategies to greater marketing success.

Crunching the numbers

Facebook has overtaken US traditional ad revenue for the first time with Google trailing in second, marking a major shift in digital marketing.

The company has seen an 18% increase in users, year over year, marking the social media platform as a major force to be reckoned with. In Europe alone, more than 307 million monthly users engage Facebook.

With the new ad super power not simply relegated to success in the US, Facebook has cemented themselves as a major global market.

Success for all ages

Users between 25 and 35 years of age is their most common demographic, a versatile range lending itself to businesses of all kinds, and five new profiles are created every second.

What’s more, 76% of women are engaging the platform along with 66% of males, and these are global numbers.

Every minute 510,000 comments are posted, 293,000 statuses are updated, along with 136,000 photos updated. That's a lot of traffic.

42% of marketers have come to site Facebook as being essential to their business and the number is likely to grow. WhatsApp (500 million), Twitter (284 million) and Instagram (200 million) do not even come close to Facebook’s 1.94 billion active users.
