Google has released two new communication tools for business users: Hangouts Meet and Hangouts Chat.
Chatbots
Hangouts Meet lets you video conference with colleagues around the globe.
Meet is integrated with G Suite, so participants can join the call directly from a Calendar or Gmail invite. While G Suite Enterprise customers get a dedicated dial-in number.
Hangouts Meet calls are secure, come with their own iOS and Android apps, and can facilitate calls of up to 30 people.
No Slacker
Hangouts Chat lets you communicate with colleagues via text, similar to Slack.
Chat lets you create different rooms for projects, and features threaded conversations. Like Meet, Hangouts Chat is deeply baked into G Suite's infrastructure.
This means content such as emails from Gmail, or docs from G Drive, can easily be added to chats or searched for within conversations.
And if you're so inclined, Chat also supports bots.
