Instagram has launched a new set of sunglass face filters for Instagram Stories, with faux reflections of popular global locales.
Make-believe-stylish
The new filter incorporates several styles of different sunglass frames, reflecting popular destinations, such as tropical islands and Parisians streets.
The augmented-reality glasses can be cycled by simply tapping the screen or if the subject moves their head from side to side.
Reflections on the glasses aren’t static either, tracking with the subject’s movement to reveal more of the virtual location mirrored in the lenses.
Lookout Snapchat
The new face filter feature is also available on Instagram Direct and offers another challenge in the long battle of virtual accessories released between Snapchat and Instagram.
Instagram’s new sunglass filters are user ready for Android and iOS devices currently running Instagram version 10.21 and up.
