Instagram now has 1 million Advertisers

Instagram has recently celebrated another milestone.

No, it’s not adopting another Snapchat-style feature – Instagram now has over 1 million advertisers on board.

Instagram’s 1 million monthly active advertisers reflects an increase of 200K from the same time last year.

There are also over 8 million businesses using Instagram business profiles, with the greatest uptake coming from the US, Russia, Brazil, Indonesia, and the UK.

In the past month, over 120 million Instagrammers used the platform to research or contact a business. While over 80% of users follow a business on Instagram.

Baby steps

The majority of these advertisers are made up of small businesses, who can use Instagram’s increasingly powerful business tools for free.

All those ads are paying off. Instagram is tipped to rake in US$3.64 billion in advertising revenue in 2017.

Not a bad effort, considering Instagram first rolled out ads just 18 months ago.
