KLM has partnered with WhatsApp for a new service allowing customers to access flight info via the messaging app.
WhatsApp takes to the skies
The new WhatsApp business friendly service provides registered passengers with boarding passes, booking confirmations, check-in times, and flight statuses.
In an effort to remain globally flexible, the new app-based service is accessible in ten languages.
Though only currently available in select countries, the partnership will be adding more in the coming weeks.
The first to partner
KLM is actually the world’s first airline to partner with a verified WhatsApp account. This unique cooperative endeavour may be pioneering for how businesses do air travel.
With WhatsApp’s 1 billion users, the collaboration is an exercise in efficiency that could catch on in a big way.
KLM is also offering flight updates and accompanying documents to be accessed through Messenger, Twitter, and WeChat, marking a bold social media strategy that could take off.
