The Messenger experience just became more immersive, nabbing the popular Instant Articles feature from the Facebook app.
Fast and friendly
The latest move comes as the company continues to separate Messenger from Facebook, most recently giving the app a home screen to replace its list of active conversations.
Instant Articles allows Facebook to keep users inside their apps longer by giving publishers a fast-loading, tailor-made platform to deliver content to readers.
The feature was introduced in May 2015 but only truly kicked off earlier this year, after Facebook introduced more ad formats and opened Instant Articles up to all publishers.
The versatile web
Instant Articles open in mere milliseconds and sports clean designs for easy reading, helping users avoid heavy mobile pages that tax slow connections or small data packs.
The feature's availability in Messenger, along with its ongoing development, may also interest more publishers to take part given they could see an increase in users sharing articles privately.
Instant Articles are available now on Android, while the feature will come to the iPhone Messenger app soon.
