Facebook has begun rolling out a feature that looks to compete with entrenched job search platforms.
Apply Now
Posting jobs on Facebook is nothing new—businesses have long shared listings on their pages.
However, the new feature makes it a core, dedicated service that is sure to have other search networks sweating.
The new feature from Facebook will be made available to business pages. It allows businesses to post job listings officially, complete with ‘Apply Now’ button functionality.
Creating job listings is free, however businesses can also choose to pay to promote the listings in news feeds, as with traditional post boosting or advertisements.
Hostile takeover?
The likes of LinkedIn and Glassdoor have been put on alert by Facebook’s latest gambit.
Capitalising on their unparalleled user base, Facebook’s new job listing feature might just have the clout to knock the established employment search platforms off their perch.
Staggered rollout
Currently, the new feature is only available for businesses in the US and Canada. Should it prove popular, you can expect a wider roll-out to follow.
