If there's one thing we can all agree on when it comes to Google, it's that their products are getting smarter.
Announcing their latest upgrades at an event in New York, Google Search now includes multiple layers for flights and hotel discovery.
Be specific
Designed with phones in mind to cater for current user habits (Google says 40% of visits to US) travel sites in the first months of 2016 came on mobile devices) users can search with keywords that will enable filters based on what they desire.
For example, a user can search for pet-friendly hotels at a certain price point, but still rated above four stars.
Hotels will not be able to pay to promote themselves higher up the search results, however Google will show a 'deal' button if rooms are available for lower prices than usual.
Don't settle
Google Flights, the company's dedicated page for air travel searches, is also getting an update that allows users to track prices.
If a user opts in to the feature, they can choose to receive an email when a flight – be it on a particular day or to a specific destination – drops in price.
Price tracking is already available for Australian users at Google Flights, while hotel searches are active in the US and coming soon to other countries.
