Sharing really is caring, especially if you're both part of the same social empire.
To wit: Instagram is now letting some users share Stories on WhatsApp.
App it Up
Select Instagram users can now share Stories directly on WhatsApp, which can include photos, video and GIFs. All content is encrypted, and will disappear after 24 hours. Both apps are owned by Facebook.
Users can begin the sharing process in Instagram, but must complete the posting via WhatsApp.
What's the Story?
The test is similar to one late last year, allowing users to share Facebook Stories on Instagram, but not vice versa. That feature has yet to set the social world on fire.
While Stories haven't taken off on Facebook, they are arguably Snapchat's most popular feature – and continue to kick goals with 'Grammers.
As WhatsApp pivots to become more business-friendly, Stories could help brands attract more eyeballs down to the track. Watch this space.
