LinkedIn is launching a dedicated app for Windows 10 to take advantage of your Windows action center.
LinkedIn’s noteworthy notifications
On the heels of Microsoft’s $26 billion acquisition of LinkedIn, the popular employment platform is getting integrated with Window’s operating system for more direct notifications.
Described as a basic web wrapper of Windows 10, notifications will be managed from within the app to curtail constant pop-ups and undesired spam.
This isn’t your parent’s LinkedIn
Microsoft is billing the new app as a “more engaging and fully integrated LinkedIn experience that is quickly accessible from your Start menu and taskbar,” which sounds about like any other installed app.
Creating a reliable hub for new messages, insights, employment trends, and connections, appears to be the main appeal of a PC specific notification system.
For some this will be an excellent addition to their job hunt repertoire, for others, it may be an unnecessary addition.
Have you utilised LinkedIn for employment? Would you benefit from a PC centered notification system? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
