Mobile image sharing service Instagram moves closer to the desktop with a host of new interactive features.

Perhaps the biggest news in social media this week was Facebook’s one billion dollar purchase of Instagram.

The photo-sharing app added 2 million users in the past month and is set to overtake Foursquare in 2012.
